Understanding and Preventing Suicide Workshop

Course overview

This workshop is designed to provide the skills and knowledge to assist you in identifying people at risk of suicide and understanding how they can be supported throughout the crisis.

Course outcomes

At the end of this workshop, you will develop the knowledge and skills to:

  • Identify a person's risk of suicide
  • How to speak with a person at-risk of suicide
  • How to facilitate links to specialist referrals
  • How to support the at-risk person
  • How to review and report on the support provided.

Entry requirements

Open to all Corrective Services NSW staff.

Delivery mode

This workshop will require completion of the following;

  • Prerequisite online component (1-2 hours)
  • Face to face / Virtual attendance (1 day)
