Corporate Services delivers professional support services across the department. This ranges from functions in information technology, human resources, legal, communications, and finance. This team also recruits Aboriginal roles as part of the Transforming Aboriginal Outcomes program.
The TA team works with hiring managers and other Corporate Services’ stakeholders to design bespoke assessments and selection processes that speak to the nature of roles like Policy Officers and IT Specialists. This can include technical work samples, situational judgement tasks, or job knowledge assessments.

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) provides support to offenders, former inmates, and their families within correctional centres, courts, and the community. CSNSW plays an integral part of the Department of Communities and Justice's priority to reduce reoffending and maintain community safety.
The TA team takes a holistic approach to understanding the nuances of roles like Correctional Officers and Psychologists. This includes running focus groups and structured interviews with current job incumbents, leaders, and key stakeholders within CSNSW. This thorough and comprehensive job analysis allows TA to design high-fidelity tasks that better support DCJ in finding top talent.

Community Services is part of the Child Protection, Permanency, Districts and Youth Justice division. Community Services works in collaboration with government, non-government, and community partners to improve the lives of children, adults, families, and communities who experience disadvantage.
Community Services works with a particularly vulnerable client group, making the work of TA more critical than ever. The TA team actively consults Community Services to better understand how recruitment practices can identify candidates with the right fit for roles like Child Protection Caseworkers. This includes working closely with frontline staff to design day-in-the-life briefings and realistic role plays to inspire incoming talent.

Housing Services is part of the Housing, Disability and District Services and Emergency Management division. Housing Services is one of the largest providers of social housing in the world, providing a range of housing solutions to meet the needs of approximately 800,000 people every year. Working in partnership with community, industry, and individuals, House Services provides safe and affordable housing so clients can live with dignity and achieve independence.
TA collaborates closely with Housing Services to help elevate their service delivery to the community. This can include best-practice advisory on behavioural profiling for roles like Client Services Officers and how personality assessments can be leveraged to ascertain job fit.

Youth Justice provides custodial and community-based services for young people. Youth Justice staff work with young people to encourage them to make positive changes in their behaviour and to build their skills in an effort to reduce their risk of reoffending.
The TA team visit youth justice centres and related facilities to get first-hand exposure to the day-to-day experiences of staff on the ground. Job shadowing and immersive on-site visits like these help TA better understand the challenges of roles like Youth Officers. These insights are used to design more rigorous assessment processes. Beyond this, TA also actively seeks out new talent by attending careers fairs and university careers events.

Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery (CT&SD) provides administrative and corporate support to NSW courts and tribunals. This includes Local, District, Supreme, and Land and Environment Courts to name a few. They also manage the Victims Services division which provides support and assistance, in the form of counselling and financial assistance to people who have been victims of violent crime.
The TA team is actively involved in the design of assessment centres and work sample tasks that help evaluate a candidate’s potential for roles like Sheriff’s Officers and Client Service Officers. These help to ensure that the talent that is brought into DCJ meets our values, behavioural and professional standards, as well as any technical requirements of the role.

Law Reform and Legal Services (LR&LS) is the principal source of advice for Ministers and the Department on legal matters and law reform. It develops legislative and strategic policies related to departmental responsibilities, supports the development and passage of legislation, coordinates Cabinet processes, and provides legal counsel for DCJ.
Understanding the strong and lasting impact of LR&LS on the wider NSW community, the TA team adopts a stringent approach to selection and assessment. This can include the provision of best-of-class aptitude assessments to select-in top talent as well as the design of technical interviews to better identify technical expertise.

The Senior Executive Talent Acquisition team provides a unique and comprehensive approach to end-to-end senior recruitment across the whole of the department and related agencies.
The TA team adopts a particularly consultative approach to assessment and selection in this space. Working closely with directors and other executives, TA takes the time to understand the intricacies of roles, their challenges, their risks, and the unique set of requirements that would see someone succeed each role.
