DCJ is excited to announce the enhancements to the JP Online portal to provide a more user-friendly experience for JPs.
This follows many months of consultation and testing with JPs across NSW. Thanks to everyone who participated.
Our aim is to make the JP Online portal as user-friendly as possible for JPs so you can get on with the job. To understand what features and enhancements were important to you, the DCJ JP team attended JP conferences in Newcastle, Tweed Heads, Beresfield and Tamworth over the last 5 months. We also conducted two days of testing sessions with JP volunteers in our Parramatta Office in August.
Thank you to everyone that participated. Your feedback on the existing portal and ideas for how to enhance JP Online have been vital. As was your enthusiasm to get stuck in and test out (aka try to break!) the new features with laptops and iPads.
Thanks also to the JP Associations who have been providing feedback throughout the development process.
Hear what some participants had to say about the new features:
The members who attended the workshop have indicated that the new system and the enhancements showcased will make it easier to navigate the website and complete the required testing for re-appointment and think it will be generally more user friendly for JPs and the public alike. Ms Irene Rainey, Secretary – Tweed Valley Justices Association
I write to congratulate the JP section of the DCJ on their new website. It is more user friendly, contains more information of assistance to JPs and, importantly, makes it simpler for JPs to reapply. Prior to the new site I was aware that a number of JPs were finding it difficult in reapply.
I particularly appreciated that, prior to producing the new site, input was sought from a number of stakeholders. The NSWJA was very pleased to be asked to provide feedback during a meeting of the Board and representatives of the JP section of the DCJ at which access to the draft site was given.
Your efforts to focus on JPs and what they need has resulted in JPs now having easy access to information, assistance virtually 24/7, a much easier reapplication procedure and confidence that when they need assistance they will be able to get it. Dr John Brodie, State President - NSW Justices Association
I found these changes easy to understand. It was also appreciated that the team were able to run us through a trial test for our re-appointment online examination. Due to their explanations, several of those in attendance, who did the trial, returned a 100% pass. Mr Ron Hartmann, Federation President - Northern NSW Federation of Justices of the Peace.
We invite you to continue to provide feedback once the enhanced portal has launched to ensure that it continues to meet your needs.
The next stage of the JP Online enhancement program will involve the roll out of the new ‘Book a JP’ feature. This feature will allow members of the public to find their nearest JP by distance not just postcode. This will be of particular benefit to people living in regional NSW where the postcode areas are large. We will be in touch with more information about this new feature closer to its launch.
