To enable more of our staff to return to the workplace we need to perform necessary clean-up activities to help create COVID-Safe workplaces. For more information about the clean-up including resources visit the COVID-Safe workplaces clean-up page on the DCJ intranet. To access this intranet page you will need to be logged into your DCJ account via Citrix/OKTA.
The Guidelines for COVID-Safe Workplace Operations (PDF , 786.0 KB) have been developed to support the recommissioning and operation of DCJ Workplaces to ensure they are a COVID-Safe.
The DCJ Board has agreed that all DCJ workplaces should have a COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plan. Development of a COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plan is also consistent with DCJ’s ongoing obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 to protect the safety and wellbeing of its staff, volunteers, clients and other visitors to the workplace.
A COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plan will be required for each workplace including operational and office based workplaces, using the template. The Plan is to be completed by business units and should be tailored to the needs of the staff within that unit and its operating requirements.

A Blueprint has been developed to assist with the completion of the COVID-Safe Workplace Safety Plan. The blueprint provides a visual guide for the hygiene controls, including signage, decals and sanitiser dispenser requirements for each space type in the workplace.

Other aspects of work, health and safety remain the responsibility of business unit managers.
Workplaces should actively review workplace arrangements and COVID-19 control measures and address any issues of concern, in consultation with workers and their representatives (e.g. HSRs), especially when restrictions or public health advice changes.

Workplace Safety Plans should be made accessible to staff. Safety Plans can be shared via the following means:
Updated Workplace Safety Plans should be emailed to coronavirus.questions@justice.nsw.gov.au so that we can update our master list.
Workplace Safety Plans should be retained at the workplace (e.g. local TRIM file) and in accordance with DCJ records management procedures.
Old or out of date plans should be removed – clearly mark them as obsolete and archive.
