Complaints and reporting

As a child safe organisation, DCJ ensures that our processes to respond to complaints of child abuse (or other concerns) are child-focused. This means that children and young people we deal with are encouraged to speak up and report risks and concerns. And children and young people, families and staff know who to tell if they want to make a complaint of child abuse.

The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Complaints and Feedback Management Policy aims to:

  • set out the principles and objectives of complaints handling which reflect our commitment to managing complaints promptly, fairly and effectively
  • guide the standard of behaviour for DCJ employees who are managing complaints.
