The Land Rights Network is actively embracing a push to increase Aboriginal Justices of the Peace (JPs) in NSW.
As part of its approach, DCJ has tapped in to the Land Rights Network and the Regional Forums held regularly by NSWALC Councillors. This has attracted great buy-in from Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) members.
   A project aimed at raising the number of JPs that identify as Indigenous in NSW has been running for almost a year. The results have been positive and there are plans to expand the initiative across the state. Read more at the Law Society Journal.
